Our approach to students' learning highlights the significance of learning through play while introducing students to a diverse method of age-appropriate lessons. Excel fosters an environment where children learn to create, collaborate, think critically, and explore at their preferred speed. They engage with peers from diverse backgrounds and develop practical skills, including learning sign language and Spanish. Students actively participate in problem-solving, exploring solutions, and gaining a deeper understanding of real-world concepts. Through the power of imagination, our students tackle academic lessons in innovative ways. We are committed to integrating music, art, STEM, and technology through Excel's curriculum along with Frog Street Curriculum.
EXCEL Academy & Preschool offers a personalized child assessment process that provides teachers and parents with real-time insight into children's development that can inform teaching and lesson planning. Executive Director Nakea Morris is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for all students, working closely with committed educators and staff to support their holistic development. We prioritize safety and maintain low staff-to-child ratios, fostering meaningful connections, a warm environment, and attentive care for every student. Our accredited educators continuously engage in professional development to ensure your child receives the highest quality of care.
Executive Director
Nakea Morris has dedicated over 15 years to childcare education, working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, achieving high class scores through the Classroom Assessment Scoring System. Her deep love and passion for children inspired her to earn an Associate of Science Degree in the Care and Development of Young Children, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching.
Nakea firmly believes that learning is a lifelong journey; the more we discover about ourselves, our children, and the world around us, the more we can enrich our students' learning experiences, fostering their social, emotional, and academic growth. She is currently enrolling in classes to pursue a Master's in Education.

During her three years of teaching, Herschell has shown remarkable growth, passion, and knowledge in caring for young children. She achieved high scores during CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) observations. Throughout her early teaching career, she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and enhanced her understanding of child development by obtaining her CDA credentials and attending numerous professional development courses.
Herschell is dedicated to shaping young children and preparing them for success. She has enrolled in a childcare Director's course and is ready to lead EXCEL Academy &Preschool's future Trail Blazers.
